When our own development team first heard that they would be working together in an international context with external developers from Vietnam, some were curious and others were skeptical or reluctant. We integrated a team of 7 developers in a large project with different sub teams and 15 developers who had been working on the mission for a few years. The team grew together quickly with the help of intercultural workshops. We found an effective and efficient way to work together. In the end the cultural barriers were a lot smaller than expected. All team members are working closely together now and create high quality results.
